About Us

John Gilbert Electrical was founded by John and Pat Gilbert in 1993 and is a family owned and operated business.

Prior to commencing this company John and Pat operated as a partnership from 1976 after returning from 5 years working in Papua New Guinea. John started out as an electrical contractor in 1973 and has over 40 years’ experience in the industry working both in Australia and overseas.

John’s son Johnnie is also an accomplished electrician with 18 years’ experience and brings to the business a wealth of knowledge. Johnnie worked closely with his father completing his apprenticeship with John Gilbert Electrical before widening his horizons and gaining valuable experience working both in Australia and the United Kingdom (including completing work for the Royal Household).
